Light in a Dark World

It is better to light one small candle than to curse the darkness.
-Eleanor Roosevelt
Sometimes it is easy to become consumed by the darkness in our world because we are bombarded by it every day.  You flop on the couch to watch the news, and what do you hear?  Murders, natural disaster, corruption- the list is endless.  It can be difficult to see that one candle in the darkness.  The most important thing to remember is…
You can be that candle.  When everyone else is consumed by the grim state of the world, you can be their light.  We have the power in us to brighten the days of others, and light the candle of others.  Light, just like a smile, is contagious.
Today, be that one small candle and take note of the changes you see in other people.  When they see you smile, do they smile?  When they hear you seeing the best in things, does their perspective change?  When they are hurting (in any form) and you help them, is their pain eased?  I know the answers to these questions, and I think you do too.
